AEV’s Off-Road Jack Base provides 3-1/2 inches of additional lift height to the 2015-22 Colorado’s factory bottle jack – allowing tires of up to 35″ to be changed with ease and stability. Many people don’t realize that the stock jack won’t work to safely change larger tires (even a 33” tall tire) until it’s too late, leaving them stranded on the side of the road or even worse, on the trail.
The Colorado’s factory bottle jack base has a substantial, 10.5″ wide footprint to provide better stability in off-road and soft soil conditions when using the factory jack or even a Hi-Lift jack. It can also double as a wheel chock in order to prevent a disabled vehicle or trailer from rolling. When not in use, the Jack Base stows neatly into the Colorado’s under-seat rear storage compartment found in both extended and crew cab models.
Q: I only have a leveling kit and a little bigger tires, do I even need this?A: The OEM bottle jack should not be used if your truck has a larger-than-stock tire size. This is especially important for anyone with 33-35" tires.Q: I prefer using a Hi-Lift Jack when I need to make repairs off-road, will this work with that as well?
A: Absolutely! The Hi-Lift Jack footprint is molded into the Jack Base as well. This is essential when operating a Hi-Lift Jack in soft soil, sand or snow.Q: Is there anything else I can use this for?
